New Puppy Tips for Kids: What To Do When Your Dog Barks While You’re Taking a Bath

Michael, chief vlogger at “Michael’s Dog Blog,” thinks it’s very important for kids with new puppies to  know what to do when your new puppy barks while you’re taking a bath. This was a problem when his puppy, Hudson, was young. He’s excited about sharing his new puppy tips with other kids.

Michael didn’t want to punish his pup. Instead, his strategy was to be nice to Hudson and try to do things that would make Hudson feel comfortable next to the bathtub. So he gave him chews to distract him. Michael wanted Hudson to learn that he (Michael) would not get out of the bath because Hudson was barking. After a week or so, Hudson stopped barking while Michael was in the bathtub.

Be nice, don’t give in, distract the dog with chews or toys. That’s what Michael says you should do when your dog barks while you’re taking a bath.
